MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny Gators suffered their third loss of the season as Joel Nau scored the only goal of the game for the Marietta Pioneers. Allegheny fell to 1-3-2 for the year, while Marietta improved to 3-3.

The Gators controlled the game by out-shooting the Pioneers 26-7. Allegheny also added 13 corner kicks to Marietta’s three.

Nau scored the game’s only goal eight minutes into the second half. The remainder of the contest was controlled by the Gators, even though they failed to score. Allegheny appeared to tie the game, but the goal was erased on a foul call.

Junior Chris Fedele (Williamsville, N.Y./ Williamsville) led the Gators with five shots, while junior Alan Carr (Blairstown, N.J./ Blair Academy), sophomore Patrick Bowman (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Mt. Lebanon), and junior Ryan Kelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Seton-LaSalle) all added three shots.

Senior goalkeeper Brian Manougian (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) had three saves for the Gators.

Allegheny returns home on Wednesday, September 21 to face Baldwin-Wallace at 4:30 p.m.
