Allegheny Men’s Soccer Earns First Win of 2005
Sep 11, 2005 Boxscore
WASHINGTON, Pa. – The men’s soccer team of Allegheny College got its first win of the 2005 season today against Washington and Jefferson. The Gators struck first in the match, as freshman midfielder Nathaniel Yates (Cleveland Heights, Ohio) got one by the Washington and Jefferson keeper in the twentieth minute. The double-assist came from Chris Fedele (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Patrick Bowman (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Mount Lebanon).
The Presidents evened the score right before the half, as Cory Stevens got through an Allegheny defense that has allowed just five goals this season in four games. Junior Alan Carr (Blairstown, N.J./ Blair Academy) of Allegheny answered after the half, however, getting the game-winner in the process.
Gator goalkeeper Brian Manougian (Rye, N.H./ Portsmouth) made six saves in the victory. Every Allegheny point-scorer earned their first points of the year in the game.
Allegheny, now 1-1-2, will next face Mount Union’s Purple Raiders on Wednesday, September 14, at 7:00 p.m.
