Gators Top Fredonia for 2-1 Start

Wellington, Fla. – The Allegheny women’s lacrosse team turned on the offense Thursday with a 10-6 victory over SUNY-Fredonia at the West Palm Beach Spring Fling.
Six different players recorded points for the Gators, including three with multiple goals. Junior mid Ashley Rogerson (Fairport, N.Y.) put up top numbers for the second straight game, scoring three goals and one assist to bring her season total to six goals.
Freshman mid Ashley Hughes (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) scored in her third straight game. Hughes tallied two goals and an assist against Fredonia. Junior mid Emily Deering (Hollis, Maine/ Bonny Eagle) also scored for the third straight game and picked up her third and fourth goals of the year.
Senior Ashley Lemmon (Allison Park, Pa./Winchester-Thurston), sophomore Kelly Towns (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and junior Danie Parsons (Brookpark, Ohio/Magnificat) all scored one goal apiece, while Lemmon chipped in with two assists.
The team returns from Florida over the weekend and will travel to Notre Dame (Ohio) College on Friday, April 1 for a 4:30 p.m. game.
