Five Allegheny Players Honored Nov 11, 2004 Cleveland, Ohio - The All-NCAC Teams have been announced by the conference office in Cleveland, Ohio and five Allegheny players have been honored. Voting is done by the NCAC women’s soccer coaches. The Gators finished the year with a 9-7-2 record overall, were 4-4 in the NCAC and were the fourth seed in the NCAC Tournament, losing in the first round to first seed Ohio Wesleyan University 2-0. Junior forward Ashley Rogerson (Fairport, N.Y.) was named to the First Team after finishing the season with six goals and one assist. Rogerson finished the season strong, scoring both goals in a 2-1 overtime win at Wooster. She was also named NCAC Player of the Week on October 23. Rogerson is double majoring in neuroscience and psychology and is the daughter of Thomas and Karyn Rogerson Two players highlight the midfield selections on the Second Team. Junior Jen Bilec (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) makes her third consecutive appearance on the second team and scored one goal and assisted on five in 13 games this season. Bilec is the daughter of James and Carol and is majoring in communications. Also earning Second Team honors was senior Ashley Kittridge (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township). Kittridge has been a steady midfielder for the Gators for four years and is honored for the first time by the league coaches. She finished with two goals and one assist. Kittridge is majoring in biology and is the daughter of Bill and Donna Kittridge. Senior Leah Karpa (West Mifflin, Pa.). Karpa is being recognized for the first time and was named to the Honorable Mention Team as a midfielder. She finished with three goals and two assists, including a two-goal effort in a 4-0 win over Hiram (Ohio) College. Karpa is the daughter of Ken and Patty and is majoring in managerial economics. The final selection is junior goalkeeper Beth Van Parys (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy). Van Parys is also being recognized for the first time by league coaches and was voted to the Honorable Mention Team. She gave up 19 goals and made 61 saves on the year for the Gators, who finished 4-4 in conference play. Van Parys is the daughter of Jerome and Deborah Van Parys and is majoring in biology with a minor in psychology.
