Gators Stopped by Top-Ranked Ohio Wesleyan

Delaware, Ohio - An early second half goal was all that Ohio Wesleyan needed to move on to the NCAC Finals and defeat Allegheny in women’s soccer. The final score was 2-0.
OWU out-shot the Gators 11-4 in the first half but couldn’t find the net as Allegheny junior keeper Beth Van Parys (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) made seven saves.
Four minutes into the second half, Sarah Wall collected a rebounded shot by Deborah Lochner and put the Battling Bishops on the board.
Toni Frissora deepened the OWU lead with a shot from a pass across the box from Kelsey McDonough in the 69th minute.
The Gators put five shots on goal but Ali Gary made all five saves to preserve the shutout.
Van Parys finished with 11 saves for Allegheny.
The Gators finish the season with a 9-7-2 mark.
Ohio Wesleyan moves on to play Wittenberg (Ohio) University who beat Denison (Ohio) University via a 4-3 shootout after a 0-0 tie.
