Richmond, Ind. - The Allegheny College men’s soccer team defeated Earlham (Ind.) College 2-0, improving their record to 5-4 in conference play and 9-7-1 overall. The win, along with losses from Wittenberg (Ohio) University at Wooster (3-1) and Oberlin against Ohio Wesleyan University (1-0 in overtime), sends the Gators to their fifth consecutive NCAC Tournament.

The Gators were led by sophomore forward Alan Carr (Blairstown, N.J./ Blair Academy), who scored the only two goals on the day. His first goal came 18 minutes into the second half and was assisted by freshman midfielder Victor Gonzalez (Redwood City, Calif./ Crystal Springs). Carr went on to score an unassisted goal nearly a minute later to put the Gators ahead 2-0.

Junior goalkeeper Brian Manougian (Rye, N.H./ Portsmouth) made three saves on the day, while both Earlham keepers made one apiece.

The Gators will face the top-seeded Fighting Scots of Wooster on Friday in the semi-finals of the NCAC Tournament. The start time will be 2 p.m.
