The Allegheny men’s soccer team broke their four game losing skid Tuesday afternoon with a 2-0 win over host Nazareth (N.Y.) College.

The Gators scored early in the first half at the 9:37 mark when senior forward Jason Figura (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) finished a header following a scramble in front of the net. The goal was Figura’s second on the year.

Not even two minutes later, senior forward Josh Johnson (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) gave Allegheny a 2-0 lead off an assist by senior midfielder Ben Montgomery (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township).

Junior goalkeeper Brian Manougian (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) made the lead stand with six saves in 90 minutes.

The Gators fired 16 shots at Golden Flyers keeper Alex Kilroy who made eight saves in the game.

The Gators next contest is on Saturday, October 16 at Ohio Wesleyan College at 7:30 p.m.
