Gators and Bobcats Battle to 0-0 Draw

Meadville, Pa. - On Community Day at Robertson Field, Allegheny College hosted Frostburg State (Md.) University in women’s soccer action, which ended in a hard-fought 0-0 tie.

Allegheny controlled the game in the shot column, firing 21 shots at Bobcat keeper Kelly Jones. Frostburg took six shots for the entire 110 minutes, with two on goal.

Junior midfielder Jen Bilec (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) led the Gators with four of eight shots on goal and senior forward Jill Gray (Northeast, Pa.) landed three of four shots on goal.

Allegheny junior keeper Beth Van Parys (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) recorded two saves in the overtime shutout, as Jones stopped 11 shots to also record a shutout.

The Gators are home again on Tuesday, September 21 when they host Penn State Behrend at 4 p.m. at Robertson Field.
