Allegheny’s Season Ends In NCAA Regionals

The Allegheny College women’s soccer season came to a close with a 1-0 loss to Wilmington (Ohio) in the regionals of the NCAA Division III tournament hosted by DePauw University. The Gators, who made the NCAA tournament for just the second time in the history of the program, finish the season with a record of 15-2-2.

Allegheny outshot the Lady Quakers, 15-8, but couldn’t find the back of the net. After a scoreless first half, Katie Foucht scored her 14th goals of the season on an assist from Chrissy Bennett for the only goal of the game.

Jessica Bullins set a Wilmington record with her 11th shutout of the season as she made nine saves in net.

The Gators were ranked 10th in the nation heading into the contest. Wilmington improves to 19-3-1 on the year and will face DePauw in the regional championship game.
