Gators Take Easy 4-0 Win Over Wittenberg
Oct 18, 2003 Juniors Ben Montgomery (McMurray, Pa./Peter’s Township) and Marc Sciulli (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) each had two goals to lead Allegheny to a 4-0 win against Wittenberg in North Coast Athletic Conference men’s soccer action on Saturday afternoon. Senior Colin Redman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) had two assists as the Gators improved to 9-2-2 and 4-1-1 in the NCAC.
Montgomery got Allegheny on the board at 43:00 with an unassisted goal and then made it 2-0 just 1:09 later when he converted on a pass from Redman. Sciulli tallied at 59:00 with an assist from Redman to make it 3-0. Sciulli capped the scoring with 5:06 left in the game on an assist from senior Eric Bland (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Homestead).
Sophomore Brian Manougian (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth Senior) made three saves in net as the Gators outshot the host Tigers, 10-9.
Wittenberg falls to 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the NCAC.
Allegheny travels to Wabash next Saturday, October 25, for a 1:00 p.m. game against the Little Giants.
