Allegheny Streaks to Eighth Straight Win

The Allegheny College women’s soccer team stretched their win streak to eight games with a 3-0 win over North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Oberlin College on the road Wednesday afternoon. The Gators are now 9-1-1 overall, 4-0-0 NCAC, and are unbeaten in their last 10 games.

A strong second half was the difference against Oberlin as senior Jill Malone (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) put Allegheny on the board with a breakaway goal at the 50:33 mark of the game. Senior Sharon Greene (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) quickly added to the lead with a goal at 53:23.

Freshman Emily Spencer (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) iced the game at 81:24 with her first career goal, giving Allegheny the 3-0 win.

The Gators outshot the Yeowomen 30-5 in the game. Oberlin fell to 3-9-1 and 0-3 in the conference with the loss.

Allegheny travels to Christopher Newport on Sunday, October 12, for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
