Gators Fall to 13th-Ranked Ohio Wesleyan, 3-1

Playing in slick, rainy conditions, #21 Allegheny College dropped a 3-1 decision to #13 Ohio Wesleyan in men’s soccer action at Robertson Field on Saturday afternoon. Miles Sinclair scored twice and Joe Anstine made 10 saves to lead the Battling Bishops to the win.

Sinclair gave OWU an early 1-0 lead when he scored at 11:41 on an assist from Aaron Barone. Jason Figura (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) knotted the game at 1-1 for Allegheny at the 33:02 mark on a Mark Dobish (New Wilmington, Pa./New Wilmington) assist.

However, Ohio Wesleyan would quickly answer on a goal by Tim Kelly and Sinclair added his second at 42:17 and 49:56, respectively, to ice the game, 3-1.

Allegheny drops their second straight after opening the season 6-0-1 to fall to 6-2-1 overall. Ohio Wesleyan improves to 8-1-1.

Allegheny will host John Carroll on Wednesday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m.
