Gator Men Complete Allegheny Soccer Sweep on Saturday

The Allegheny College men's soccer team followed the example set by the women's team (see story) earlier today by registering their own 2-0 victory - against Heidelberg - to open the 2003 season. The Gators win came at the Mount Union Soccer Tournament.
Allegheny scored both goals in the first half as Colin Redman(Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) converted on a corner kick by Derek Segesdy (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) to give the Gators a 1-0 lead. Marc Sciulli (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) doubled that lead later in the half as he scored on an assist from Dan Carik (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley).
Allegheny is 1-0 on the season and will take on host Mount Union tomorrow in a 2:00 p.m. game.
