Gators Fall On The Road As Denison Gets Hot From The ARC
Feb 15, 2003 The Allegheny College women's basketball

University found their touch from three-point range and handed the Gators
a 74-61 loss at Livingston Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. With the
loss, Allegheny falls to 11-12 and 9-5 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
Sophomore forward Meredith McDonough (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland
Catholic) and freshman forward Courtney Steding (McDonald, Pa./Fort
Cherry) dominated the paint for the Gators, scoring 15 and 14 points
respectively, and combining for 13 rebounds. McDonough went 7-10 from
the field and Steding was 5-10 with four steals.
Denison, however, reigned from outside, hitting a school-record
11 three-pointers and shooting 55.0 percent from the land of plenty.
Emily Larouere led all scorers with 20 points and tied the Denison school-record
with six three's, going 7-9 from the field and 6-7 from beyond the arc.
Allegheny held the lead for the majority of the first
half, but the Big Red went on a 10-1 run to break up a 26-26 tie and
take a 36-27 lead into the locker room. The Gators cut the lead to three
a couple times, but never got any closer, falling 74-61.
