Gators Fall To Wittenberg, 80-56
Jan 3, 2003 The Wittenberg University women's basketball
took a convincing 80-56 over Allegheny College in North Coast Athletic
Conference action at the David V. Wise Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers had four players in double figures and forced the Gators
into 30 turnovers to improve to 7-4 on the season and remain undefeated
at 2-0 in the conference.
Allegheny had three players in double figures with Meredith
McDonough tallying 12 points on 6-og-6 shooting from the charity stripe.
Kristin Kramarik scored 11 and had three steals. Raelynn Miles, in foul
trouble for the majority of the game, still managed 10 points and five
assists.
The Gators shot 38.8 percent in the game and committed
27 fouls. Wittenberg went 22-30 from the free-throw line and shot 45.9
percent (28-for-61) from the field.
Meghan Bruggeman led a balanced attack for the Tigers,
putting in 13 points and grabbing five boards. Amber Bishop scored 12
on 5-of-7 shooting while Tiffany Keller added 11 and Kate Rolf had 10
points hitting the Tigers only two three-pointers.
Allegheny falls to 3-8 and 1-2 on the season. They will
next host Westminster on Thursday, January 9, in a 7:00 p.m. non-conference
game at the Wise Center.
