Allegheny has long been recognized—and cherished—for doing the "ordinary" extraordinarily well. Small miracles happen in our classrooms every day because our faculty are passionate about teaching. Our students make a real difference in Allegheny's hometown by volunteering in our community. And our graduates make a real difference in the world.

Our beautiful and historic campus is the center of a creative, collaborative educational process and a second home for our alumni. Our loyal alumni maintain close ties to Allegheny, holding us to high standards and taking personal responsibility for our continued vitality.

To prepare for the future, Allegheny has launched Tradition & Transformation - Making a Difference, a fund-raising campaign that builds upon Allegheny's traditions and strengths to transform our programs and our students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

In 2002 the College completed a strategic plan that affirms Allegheny's commitment to our historical purpose and identity while outlining key strategies and initiatives to secure our place among the nation's top undergraduate institutions.

To address the priorities outlined in this strategic plan, we have set the following six goals for the Tradition & Transformation campaign: Student Support, Faculty Support, Academic Program; Residential College; Campus of the Future; and Annual Fund.

For nearly 200 years, Allegheny has benefited from a strong philanthropic tradition, with generations of Alleghenians expressing their love for the College by making an investment in its future. By supporting Tradition & Transformation, you can do the same. Our goal is twofold: to heighten awareness and appreciation of our College and to raise the funds to help Allegheny secure its place among the leading liberal arts colleges in the nation.
