Costanzo Earns Head Coaching Position
Apr 10 - MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny College Director of Athletics and Recreation Betsy Mitchell has named Kate Costanzo the eighth head coach in the history of Allegheny women’s basketball. Costanzo served as the Gators’ interim head coach during the 2007-08 season.

Gator Trio Earns All-Conference Honors
Mar 5 - CLEVELAND, Ohio – Three players from the Allegheny women’s basketball squad were named to the 2008 All-North Coast Athletic Conference team, announced by the NCAC on Wednesday morning. Junior forward Stephanie Wolf (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) highlighted the Gator selections by being named a First-Team honoree.

Gators Fall in Tournament Opener
Feb 26 - GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Allegheny College Gators were unable to win their second straight game against the Big Red of Denison University, falling 75-66 in a game that is much closer than the nine-point margin of victory would indicate. The Gators (11-15) trailed by just one with 1:40 to play before Denison (16-10) hit a basket and then iced the game by hitting 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.

Gators Look to Continue Strong Play
Feb 25 - GRANVILLE, Ohio – Since the first meeting of the season between Allegheny College and Denison University; a 60-50 Big Red victory on January 26; the Gators have reeled off six wins in their last eight games, including a 67-59 upset victory over the same squad from Granville on Saturday. The reward for the Blue and Gold upset? A return trip to Granville in the first round of the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament, pushing the squad’s frequent-bus mileage to more than 870 over the last four days.

Gators Score an Upset at Denison
Feb 23 - GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Allegheny women's basketball team (11-14, 8-8 NCAC) picked up what was arguably their biggest win under first year head coach Kate Costanzo with a 67-59 upset of Denison (15-10, 11-5 NCAC) on Saturday. The win also sets up a rematch in the quarterfinals of the NCAC Tournament on Tuesday as the Gators go into the bracket as the #5 seed with the Big Red sitting in the four spot.
