INVITE POLE VAULT

Jeremy Scott - Jonesboro, Arkansas
Scott, currently living and training in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a 2003 graduate of Allegheny College and graduated from Arkansas in 2006 with a master’s degree in exercise science. A former Nebraska State High School Champion, Scott graduated from Allegheny as one of, if not the, most decorated and accomplished pole vaulters in NCAA Division III history. As a freshman in 2000, he placed second at the NCAA Outdoor National Meet, clearing a height of 16-2.75. He followed that with a second runner-up finish in 2001 during the outdoor season before winning both the indoor and outdoor National Titles during the 2002 season, setting the NCAA Division III Indoor record by leaping 18-0.5, qualifying him for the United States Indoor Championships and earning NCAA Division III Athlete of the Year honors.

After graduating from Allegheny in 2003, Scott exhausted his eligibility at the University of Arkansas while working on his master’s degree. While at Arkansas, training under the legendary Earl Bell, Scott took fourth at the NCAA Division I National Meet, earning All-America honors while helping his squad to the National Title. Also in 2004, Scott reached the qualifying standard for the United States Olympic Trials. He has a lifetime best of 18-8.25, and has competed in numerous meets in Europe over the past year.

Andree Pickens - Jonesboro, Arkansas
Pickens, currently living and training in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a 2004 graduate of the University of Alabama. While with the Crimson Tide, Pickens was one of the most decorated gymnasts in the country, winning the NCAA Top Eight Award, the Honda-Broderick Award for Gymnastics and was the NCAA Woman of the Year for the state of Alabama. She finished her career as the only gymnast in NCAA history to earn five All-America honors in two different seasons.

After turning her attention to pole vaulting, Pickens started quickly, breaking Alabama’s school indoor and outdoor pole vault records in her first season, while also qualifying for the NCAA Division I meet, where she placed ninth, narrowly missing All-America honors. Pickens, one of the top up-and-comers in the pole vault circuit, has continually increased her personal best throughout her career, as she vaulted to a height of 14-3 on April 18, her second highest jump of her career.
