Picked to finish sixth in the both North Coast Athletic Conference coaches' and media polls, the Gators are 1-1 on the season, falling to Fredonia St. in the opening game of the John K. Adams Rutgers-Newark Tip-Off Tournament before posting a victory over Medgar Evers.

The Youngstown St. matchup is one of two tough non-conference opponents outside of Division III. Allegheny will also play at Division II Gannon University on Dec. 3. The Golden Knights are ranked third in the Sporting News Preseason Poll and 16th in the Bulletin Preseason Poll.

Allegheny will also be tested within the NCAC as it meets defending champ Ohio Wesleyan twice. The Battling Bishops advanced to the Division III Sweet 16 in ’07-08. Allegheny also takes two other NCAC powers twice – Wittenberg and Wooster – which have combined to win 15 straight conference regular season championships and 17 of the last 19 NCAC Tournament crowns.
