Gators Qualify for NCAA Championships
Allegheny was the 10th team chosen into the field after a 2007-08 campaign which included five first-place finishes and numerous top performances against Division I and Division II competition. In only its third year of existence, the Gator program has been one of the strongest in Division III over the past two years with 11th- and ninth-place finishes during the previous two National Tournaments. The Gators are led by junior Jaime Reints (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East), who has compiled an average of 84.22 with eight top-10 finishes in 2007-08. In addition, Allegheny will look to senior Lisa Coleman (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier Central), pictured right, who is second on the squad with an average of 85.24, junior Alison Bruckner (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) at 85.28, freshman Laura Burkholder (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) at 88.81, and freshman Julia Wears (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) at 86.94. Wartburg College will serve as the host institution for the event while the championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. The tournament consists of 72 holes of play over four days of competition. In the team competition, the low four scores from each team for each day will count in the team’s total score.
