Directions to Applicants for Admission

Early Decision Applicants

If you desire consideration under the Early Decision plan, you should indicate a preference for this plan in the appropriate section on your application and complete the Early Decision Agreement form. Prospective students should become candidates for Early Decision only if Allegheny is the first-choice college and if they intend to accept an offer of admission. Early decision candidates may submit Regular Decision applications to other colleges, but these applications must be withdrawn when acceptance to Allegheny is confirmed.

Admission Notification

If you apply under the Early Decision program, you will receive admission notification no later than December 15. Under the Regular Decision program, you will receive notification by April 1. Accepted candidates must submit the non-refundable $400 matriculation deposit by May 1, in accordance with instructions provided in the acceptance letter.

Financial Assistance

If you are seeking financial assistance from Allegheny, please submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by a preferred date of February 15 and designate that copies of the form be forwarded to the College (Federal Code Number 003230). The Financial Aid Office will send notification of financial assistance by April 1, provided the FAFSA is on file with the College at that time.
