Survey of Civility and Compromise in American Politics

Allegheny's new study on politics and civility, one of the first comprehensive studies of how Americans view the tone of political discourse, aims to examine civility in politics. In review of Shea’s report, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, David M. Shribman, used his well-respected voice to endorse Allegheny’s effort:

"Years from now, if we are lucky, we may recall that the big idea of the early 21st century came from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa."

Welcome to Allegheny College.

Allegheny is a unique place where students embrace the College's total educational experience.  Our students have the uncanny ability to create unusual combinations of interests and talents.  These "wonderfully weird" combinations enhance our students' success here and ensure excellence in their future careers.

For example, Allegheny students study political science as they prepare for medical school.  They take ballroom dancing, participate in varsity basketball and conduct lab research–all in the same week.

Will Allegheny fit your interests, skills and talents?
