The Staff

Rev. Jane Ellen Nickell is College Chaplain. An ordained United Methodist minister, Jane Ellen oversees the Religious Life program, leads ecumenical worship on Sunday, takes part in other ritual events in the life of the College, and teaches in the Department of Religious Studies. She advises Sojourners Christian Fellowship and is available to assist students of any faith in their spiritual search. Students can see her during office hours Monday 3-5 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 p.m.

Rev. Rich Toohey is the Catholic Chaplain. Fr. Rich is a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie and is assigned to Allegheny College, as well as the St. Mary of Grace Church in Meadville. He celebrates Masses during the academic year on Sunday evenings and is advisor to the Allegheny Newman Association and Allegheny Students for Life. He is available to students during office hours Monday 1-4 p.m. and Thursday 1-4 p.m.

Yana Geyfman is the advisor to Hillel. She works to create programming that enhances Jewish religious and cultural life on campus. Yana has office hours in the Religious Life Office Tuesday 2-5 p.m..

Sandie Starr Everhart works through the Coalition for Christian Outreach and advises the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Mollie Little works through the Coalition for Christian Outreach and advises Allegheny Christian Outreach.

Brenda Armstrong is the Religious Life Assistant. She works with each member of the religious life staff and coordinates a calendar of religious life activities.

All staff are available to meet with students during posted office hours or by appointment.
