The Allegheny UU group provides a community for students who define themselves as Unitarian Universalists and others who are just interested in exploring their spirituality. UUism is a religious movement that places truth in personal experience and supplies a safe, affirming space for the development of new understandings of the world around us.
The group meets weekly or bi-weekly during the semester on Sunday evenings. Meetings take the form of informal group discussions, worship services, meditations, meals, and discussions with individuals in the community such as the college Chaplain and the minister of the local UU church.
Connections to a larger UU community are kept through regular participation in services and activities at the Meadville UU church (just a 15 minute walk from campus). Occasionally, trips are made to retreats and conferences in the Ohio-Meadville District of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
