About the Instructors

Patricia A. Bordell, Ph.D., Chemistry
Pat is presently a part time faculty member in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to teaching at Duquesne, Pat is extremely active in several programs at the College Board. Besides being a reader for the national AP exam, she is a consultant and workshop leader in AP Chemistry, Pre-AP: Creating a Learner Centered Classroom in Science and Vertical Teams in Science. She is also a College Board National Leader and as such she mentors new consultants who present various College Board workshops. During the summer, she is a consultant for several week-long AP chemistry and Pre-AP Institutes and recently was sent to China and Columbia. She served three years on the AP Steering Committee to help develop and present College Board workshops at the Annual AP Conference, held once a year in various cities in the United States. She is also one of the reviewers of AP Chemistry syllabi in the College Board's AP Audit Program. Her Honors General Chemistry course at Duquesne University was one of the "best practices" courses used as information for the "redesigning" of the AP Chemistry program, scheduled for 2012.

Robert Eck, English Language and Composition
Bob Eck has been teaching AP Lit and AP Language at Pitman HS in Pitman, NJ for 17 years. He has been a language reader since 1995 and is endorsed to teach both the Language and Literature summer workshops by the College Board. He is currently the English Department chairperson at Pitman HS. Bob graduated from SUNY O'Neonta in 1972 and has also been trained in the nuances of the new Language Exam in terms of both the synthesis question and the citation questions.

Cheryl Petersohn, English Literature & Composition
For over 35 years, Cheryl Petersohn has been a teacher of English in the Lower Merion School District, a suburb of Philadelphia. Experienced in teaching all levels of students in grades 7 through 12, Petersohn currently teaches AP English Literature, International Baccalaureate English, and College Prep seniors at Harriton High School and serves as department chair. A College Board consultant for 6 years, Petersohn is a reader for the AP English Literature examination and presents Pre AP and Vertical Team workshops for the College Board Middle States region. She has been the recipient of two NEH grants for summer study: Shakespeare at the Folger Library in Washington, D.C. and Teaching Poetry at DePaul University in Chicago.

J. Bruce Forry, European History
J. Bruce Forry has over 40 years of teaching experience and is currently a consultant for the College Board, an Advanced Placement test grader, and an Advanced Placement workshop leader previously at Manhattan College and currently at LaSalle University. Mr. Forry holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, and the University of Colorado.

Greg Rabb, Government and Politics - U. S.
Currently Assistant Dean of Social Sciences and Business at Jamestown Community College and Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of Global Studies and Government Internships, Greg Rabb has also been an adjunct professor of political science at economics at SUNY Brockport and Fredonia, RIT, Rhode Island College, Villa Maria College, and Bryant and Stratton Institute. He is a revision author of an introductory government textbook entitled "People and Politics" and a long time exam reader for Educational Testing Services. He is a several-time recipient of the National Endowment for the Humanities grants, a US Institute of Peace grant, a Fulbright to study in the Netherlands, Global Studies grants from the University of Illinois, a Freeman Fellowship in East Asia from Columbia University, and a fellowship in Holocaust Studies from Northwestern University.

James Riddle, U.S. History
Currently completing his doctorate at Columbia University, Mr. Riddle has taught APUSH to high school students for over 25 years, and has worked with the College Board in numerous capacities across America for 20 years, has read AP U. S. History exams for 20 years, served as a Table Leader and exam supervisor, led APUSH consulting sessions for teachers for 10 years, and taught week-long summer institutes for nearly 10 years. Mr. Riddle also has experience in grant writing, research, and teaching undergraduate and graduate classes. He belongs to professional organizations including the American Chemical Society, the National Science Teachers Association, the National Council of Mathematics Teachers, the Pennsylvania Science Teacher Association, and is a leading member in Building a Presence for Science in PA.
