Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy Allegheny College. Through the Office of Conference and Event Services, the College offers a continuous learning community on campus for a diverse body of learners and teachers.
The College's picturesque landscape, extensive facilities and convenient location make the campus an ideal setting for events from the personal to the professional. The historic beauty of Ford Memorial Chapel and the rustic bridge lend a touch of tradition and charm to weddings and reunions on campus.
At the same time, the College remains at the forefront of technology through video-conferencing equipment and several "smart classrooms." Complemented by the campus's extensive indoor recreational facilities and the outdoor opportunities of northwestern Pennsylvania, the College's technological capabilities make the campus a model site for businesses and other professional organizations to hold conferences, workshops and seminars.
Allegheny also offers various educational and professional opportunities during the summer months that benefit elementary and high-school students and their parents, teachers and counselors as well as Allegheny's students and alumni and the regional community. The summer of 2008, for example, will include the Band Camp for Adult Musicians, an Advanced Placement Institute for secondary school teachers, a Theatre Workshop for high school students, and camps for children and high school students on topics such as music, dance and athletics.
