Committee of Diversity Issues (CODIS)
The Committee on Diversity Issues (CODIS) is committed to the cultivation of cultural diversity at Allegheny and to all its educational and social benefits. CODIS works to make and keep diversity a crucial consideration in the recruitment and retention of students and faculty; to make diversity matter in the curriculum and pedagogy at Allegheny; and to recognize and respond to acts of oppression and discrimination on campus that are based on racial, ethnic, cultural and sexual differences.
Open to all members of the campus community, CODIS does this work in collaboration with the Office of Diversity Affairs, the Harassment Committee and other college organizations which may call on CODIS to help support their diversity efforts. The committee also provides resources for the Allegheny community, such as the CODIS Library.
