Summer AmeriCorps Bonner Leader Positions
Positions are available for Allegheny students to join AmeriCorps, the domestic equivalent to the Peace Corps, for the summer meeting real community needs at service agencies in Crawford County. The Summer AmeriCorps Bonner Leader Program combines direct service at a local service agency, training in leadership and service, and financial compensation. Accepted students will be matched with one service site throughout their entire summer experience. The community of AmeriCorps Bonner Leaders meets on a weekly basis to talk about issues in the community, host guest speakers, and reflect on their experience over a meal.
Time Commitment
300 hours spread out over at least 7 weeks
Application Process
Application and reference forms can be picked up at the Office of Community Service in ACCEL or here and are due by March 30, 2007. An on-campus interview and site interviews, in addition to the application and references, determine acceptance and placement.
