Allegheny College has small but very active exchange visitor programs. Approximately 150 Allegheny students and faculty participate in study or research activities abroad each year. Allegheny has student exchange agreements with universities in China, France, Germany and South Africa. The South Africa exchange is supplemented by a summer travel seminar led by Allegheny faculty. Other exchange visitor programs include the Max Kade Writer-in-Residence program through which a German language author visits the campus each fall for seven weeks.
