• Association Of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) This site provides general information about allopathic medicine (MD degree), including links to the US allopathic schools.
• American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) This site provides information about and access to the on-line application used for almost all of the allopathic medical schools.
• American Association Of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) This site provides general information about osteopathic medicine (DO degree), including links to the US osteopathic schools.
• American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) This site provides information about and access to the on-line application used for all of the osteopathic medical schools.
• American Medical Student Association (AMSA) This site provides useful information to pre-medical and allopathic medical students.
• Interview Information This site will give you a lot of information about medical schools as well as feedback from med school applicants about their interviews and the schools/curricula/student bodies, etc. The interview information may be very helpful, but you are cautioned to be aware that "quality control" varies quite a bit on this site. If something seems off, it probably is.

• Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA) This site provides osteopathic medical students with lots of useful information.
• Texas Medical & Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS) This site provides the entry point to information about and the application for 7 of the 8 medical schools in Texas (Baylor is not included).

General Interest, Issues, Opportunities

• General Health Professions Information This is a wonderful site with lots of information about preparing, applying, interviewing, and learning more about medicine.
• Issues in Medicine This link starts with interview information, but also includes current issues in medicine.
• The Next Generation, a free, on-line pre-medical journal sponsored by the New England Journal of Medicine
• Physician Shortage Area Program- This site describes a special program with Jefferson Medical College for students interested in a career in small town/rural family medicine. Allegheny students who fit the criteria for this program receive preferential treatment in the admissions process.
• Sports Medicine - This is the web site of the American College of Sports Medicine and contains a wide variety of information about the field of sports medicine.
• Virtual Mentor - The on-line ethics journal of the AMA, this site has case studies in medical ethics and other articles on ethics and professionalism in medicine.

Chiropractic Medicine (DC)

• American Chiropractic Association (ACA) This site gives general information about chiropractic medicine and Association activities.

Dental Medicine (DDS and DMD)

• American Dental Education Association (ADEA) This site provides general information about dental education and US dental schools.
• American Dental Association (ADA) This site provides information about the DAT, the test required of all dental applicants.
• American Student Dental Association (ASDA) This site has good infoormation for pre-dental students concerning dental school admission and financial aid.
• AADSAS This site links you to the on-line dental application via the ADEA website.
• Scholarware DAT Review This test prep company provides a good CD-ROM review for the DAT, a test that is only given on computer.
• Texas Medical & Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS) This site provides the entry point to information about and the application for all 3 dental schools in Texas.

• The American Dietetics Association This site contains valuable information about careers in dietetics, and the locations of educational programs and supervised practice programs.

Forensic Medicine/ Forensic Science

• American Academy of Forensic Science This site offers general information about forensic science as well as a listing of graduate programs.
• Drexel Master's Degree Options Information about two masters programs; one in Forensic Science, intended for individuals with a science background, and one in Criminalistic Science, which does not require a science background.

• American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) This site has a wealth of information about the field of occupational therapy and links to schools offering masters and doctoral level OT programs.

Optometry (OD)

• Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) This site provides general information about the field of optometry and the individual schools that grant the OD degree.
• Optometry Admission Test (OAT) Information about the test and how to apply to take it is available at this site.
