Minors

Unlike many other liberal arts colleges, Allegheny asks students to select a minor as well as a major - and that minor has to be outside the academic division of the major.

Students electing to do two minors must fulfill all requirements for each of the programs. The additional minor must contain at least 12 credits not counted toward any other major or minor.

Students may design their own minor if such a minor is not offered. A Student-Designed Minor must be comparable in academic rigor and integrity to a conventional minor and must offer sufficient depth in a subject area. The approval process is the same as that for Student-Designed Majors.
