Dave Seeley came to Allegheny with the intention of becoming a school psychologist. But an intro course in another area soon changed his mind.
"An introductory political philosophy class captivated my interest," he says. "I had absolutely no previous encounter with any political science coursework and was immediately intrigued." Once Dave's interest was sparked, the quality of the program and faculty completely won him over.
"The professors here are spectacular," he says. "They're experts in their fields, but they also love teaching and helping stimulate our minds. They've encouraged me to learn in a more active way, and not simply go through the motions. I feel constantly challenged."
Dave wants to do something that makes a difference in the world, and he believes that political science, which examines how institutions in the world operate, is a good starting point.
He also knows Allegheny will be helping him get the experience he needs. "Allegheny is always searching for ways to give students a jump start in the outside world," he says. "The College offers a vast variety of opportunities that serve to do just that."
