Tamara Pavasovic
Servia
Major: International Studies
Minors: German
“The International Studies program offers an absolutely perfect combination of politics, economics, history and foreign language studies,” Tamara Pavasovic says. “It’s the ultimate assortment of courses, experiences, and skills that anyone pursuing an international studies career could dream of.”
In addition to the well-rounded curriculum, Tamara takes full advantage of other opportunities offered by the program. She’s interned at the International Institute of Finance and the National Center for Victims of Crime. She attended summer institutes in Prague and at Georgetown University. And in addition to participating in national assemblies such as the Mock United Nation Assembly at Harvard, Tamara was also a presenter at the Notre Dame Conference on Peace.
Somehow, in between Student Government meetings, Model NATO classes (Allegheny’s team won first place in the nation this year), Debate Team trips, and Amnesty International activities, Tamara finds time to tutor math, volunteer, and sing in the Women’s Ensemble.
If she had to do it all over again, Tamara says she’d follow the same course. “I cannot think of one way this program could be improved or any aspect enhanced,” Tamara says. “It’s the perfect balance of everything that’s important.”
