Iulia Grigoras

Major: Communication Arts, Pschyology
Minor: Spanish
To Iulia Grigoras the field of communications is not merely an arbitrarily chosen career path—it is a lifelong passion. However, Iulia didn’t know which of the many areas of communications to pursue. But after taking her first communications class and attending two Career Road Shows, she discovered the world of advertising held the most appeal.
Iulia feels a communication arts major/psychology minor combination best suits her goals. And the way her classes are taught suit her ambitions. “In our classes we don’t just learn theories and facts we’ll forget in ten years,” she says. “We learn how to think critically, how to be responsible, how to share what we’ve learned, and how to form opinions and defend them.
“On top of mastering a set of skills that are in high demand, with the liberal arts curriculum we acquire a wide knowledge base upon which any employer can build.”
Iulia appreciates the efforts of Allegheny’s faculty in and out of the classroom. “My professors have always been extremely supportive not only as far as my academic performance, but they have also helped me grow as a person,” she says. “They’ve always been there for me.”
