Equity Guest Artist Program
Established theatre professionals (actors, directors, designers,
etc.) visit campus once per year, giving workshops and seminars and working
closely with students in a production. Many are Allegheny graduates.
College Productions
- The Playshop Theatre produces 3-4 shows per year (Some recent examples:
Everyman, The Bacchae, Midsummer Night's Dream, Rhinoceros, The Learned Ladies,
Machinal)
- Student Experimental Theatre is student-run and student-directed, producing
a varied number of shows each year (one-acts, annual musical, variety shows,
and full-length plays).
- Orchesis modern dance troupe and Allegheny Repertory Dance mount a number
of shows each year.
- National touring shows at Allegheny give students a chance to crew professional
productions.

Career Data
- About 80% of our majors seek jobs directly after graduation, and many
secure work in their fields right away. The most popular fields with a B.A.
degree: technical theatre, stage management, arts management, radio-TV production,
and cable television.
- The most popular fields with advanced degrees: college teaching, professional
theatre/TV/film, law, and arts administration.
