To Iulia Grigoras the field of communications is not merely an arbitrarily chosen career path—it is a lifelong passion. However, Iulia didn’t know which of the many areas of communications to pursue. But after taking her first communications class and attending two Career Road Shows, she discovered the world of advertising held the most appeal.

40-48 semester hours (typically 10-12 courses) exploring the dramatic expression of a given culture through theory and practice. Six specified courses (Introduction to Theatre; Acting I: Fundamentals or Oral Interpretation; Introduction to Theatre Production; Theatre History I or II; Junior Seminar; Senior Project) and up to six electives.
45 semester hours (typically 12 courses) exploring the creative and critical study of human communication, with special emphasis on rhetoric and mass media through theory and practice. Specific courses required include: Media and Society; Rhetoric as a Liberal Art; Media Criticism or Rhetorical Criticism; one Performance Class (e.g., Acting, Visual Production I, or Public Advocacy); two Advanced Classes (e.g. Rhetoric and Community, Media and Cultural Theory, Documentary Tradition, Public Address, Visual Production III); Communication Junior Seminar; Comprehensive Seminar; Senior Project, and at least two electives.
At least 20 semester hours of graded courses in either theatre
or communications. At least two of the courses should be numbered 300 or
above.
